12V 160W Steel Emergency Light

Product Description

A thunder storm ravages your senior living facility, and a lightning strike knocks out a dozen steel bug-eye exit lights in the building corridors. These huge, rusting battery boxes are older than any of the seniors in the building, and it's hard to discern what the voltage or amp-hours were, plus the manufacturer has long been obsolete. However you know these fixtures once powered two additional PAR-style remote floodlights connected by low voltage wire in adjacent berthing areas and wash rooms. What the heck do you replace them with? 

Our answer is our 12V 160W Steel Emergency Light with up to 36W of capacity at a 90-minute runtime. This model includes two (2) top-mounted PAR36-Style 18-watt incandescent lighting heads, molded from impact-resistant thermoplastic in a matching color. Due to the larger battery, this 20-gauge steel egress fixture can accommodate an additional two (12) 9W remote heads placed away from the parent unit.

Mounting

A convenient mounting pattern and several key hole slots are stamped on the rear of the steel housing, with conduit knockouts on the sides of each unit. Due to the weight (approximately 30 lbs) certain wall types might need a separate mounting shelf that you can also buy on EmergencyLight.net by calling 800-282-5600, through email or chat.

Battery Testing

The RS12-160-T1218-2-W comes with a maintenance free 12 volt sealed valve regulated lead acid battery. The battery is rated to keep the lighting heads illuminated for at least 90 minutes, and requires only 24-hours to fully re-charge. For periodic CSA-mandated testing, a push-to-test switch on the side of the housing allows maintenance personnel to quickly ascertain the operational status of the fixture and lamp load. Above the switch is a dual diagnostic LED display indicating AC/ON and High Charge.

Lead Time and Shipping

Our high-wattage steel emergency lights are made-to-order in Ontario, Canada. Expect a 2-3 week lead time (4-5 weeks for 10 or more fixtures). However, this model may be in-stock at certain times. Please call 800-282-5600 to get the most accurate lead time.
