Product Description
A recent safety inspection at your senior healthcare facility highlighted the need for non-metallic backup lights in the outdoor areas, which are highly prone to humidity and wet weather. Is it possible to still buy the cheap plastic emergency lighting units they sell at Home Depot?
The correct answer is NO! Protect your elderly guests and Buy the 12V Wet Location Emergency Light with Lead Acid Battery, a wet location-ready fixture ideal for high-pressure hose-down areas and humid climates that would corrode or destroy other egress lights. Best of all you can save money on fewer fixtures, as the deep cycle battery in the IEL can support up to six (6) extra remote floodlights.
Construction
Rather than a steel or plastic housing, the IEL-12-72-9W is constructed with a fiberglass cabinet that is resistant to corrosion and sun-damage. An industrial gray finish is standard, and there are several terminal connectors on the housing flanks to connect remote flood lights. Each unit we sell is individually tested in the factory to NEMA 4X standards, a series of brutal wash-down tests to ensure the gaskets and housing stay completely sealed.
This model includes two (2) top-mounted 9-watt wedge base incandescent, Par36-style heads. These heads are fully-adjustable and molded from impact-resistant thermoplastic in a black color. The 12V SLA battery inside carries a 72W load rated at 90 minutes, so you can remotely power other fixtures, exit signs or up to six 9W remote heads.
Battery Testing
This 12V wet location emergency light comes with maintenance free 12 volt sealed valve regulated lead acid batteries. These batteries are rated to maintain a 72W load for at least 90 minutes, and requires only 48-hours to fully re-charge.
For periodic CSA-mandated testing, a push-to-test switch on the side of the housing allows maintenance personnel to quickly ascertain the operational status of the fixture and lamp load. Above the switch is a dual diagnostic LED display indicating AC/ON and High Charge. Ask about our Autotest feature as well!

Our NEMA 4X emergency lights are built-to-order in Ontario, Canada. Expect a 1-2 week lead time (3-4 weeks for 10 or more fixtures). However, this model may be in-stock at any time. Please call 800-282-5600 to get the most accurate delivery quotation.
