The EMB-1300-T5 is a popular choice for those looking to utilize existing T5 or T5HO fluorescent fixtures to satisfy emergency lighting requirements. Fluorescent emergency ballasts allow a ‘normally on’ fluorescent light to also function as an emergency lighting fixture. A small but powerful Nickel-Cadmium battery inside the emergency ballast will provide at least 90-minutes of backup power once electricity to the facility is lost.
Battery and OSHA Testing
The EMB-1300-T5 Series comes with a simple push-button that allows facilities personnel to test the battery at any time during the 5 to 7-year lifespan. T5 and T5HO fluorescent emergency ballasts are a popular alternative to conventional, stand-alone emergency lighting units. They meet NFPA 101 Life Safety code requirements and are UL924 Listed for the United States and Canada.
