24V 200W Steel Emergency Light

Product Description

The police sub-station you maintain is closing the books for this fiscal year, and you realize it's your last chance to buy new remote-capable Steel Emergency Lights to replace a few broken ones in the facility. The problem is your old fixtures powered several remote-mounted floodlights that used an un-common 24-volt wire. You're also hoping to get a fixture that doesn't require a battery swap-out every three years.

You are in luck, because the RS24N-200-T2418-2-W may be just what you are looking for! Instead of using several clunky SLA batteries, this 200W Steel Emergency Light includes a shrink-wrapped pack of high-efficiency nickel cadmium batteries that still meets UL and CSA-mandated 90-minute emergency runtimes. This model includes two (2) top-mounted PAR36-Style 18-watt incandescent lighting heads, molded from impact-resistant thermoplastic in a matching color. There are enough Ni-Cd batteries in this 20-gauge steel egress fixture to accommodate one (16) additional 9W remote head placed away from the parent unit.

Mounting

A pre-fabricated mounting pattern and several key hole slots are stamped on the back of the steel housing, and includes conduit knockouts on the sides. Best of all the Ni-Cd batteries greatly reduce shipping weight (approximately 20 lbs), an easy way to cut costs and meet budgetary needs in a pinch.

Battery Testing

The RS24N-200-T2418-2-W includes a pack of long-life 24 volt nickel cadmium batteries, which last 8-10 years before replacement is needed. This is compared to Sealed Lead Acid AGM batteries that only last 5-7 years. Ni-Cd cells also hold up better to colder conditions and will not rupture and leak like SLA. Since periodic CSA readiness tests are required by law, a push-to-test switch on the side of the housing allows maintenance personnel to quickly observe the operational status of the fixture and lamp load. Above the button is a dual diagnostic LED display indicating AC/ON and High Charge.
