Product Description
The Class 1 Division 2 Emergency Light with 6V 22W Nickel-Cadmium Battery is hazardous location rated and suitable for use in locations which require explosion-proof emergency lighting fixtures. It comes with (2) 10W Halogen MR16 lamps that are fully-adjustable and a nickel-cadmium battery pack. We have all the technical data and other information you might need available, including photometric output.
It's high time to update the emergency lighting outside of your paint spray booth. While this area is not deemed an explosive environment, NEC Code requires you to have a Class 1 Division 2 fixture outside that is sufficiently protected in case a spill or other situation occurs. It may seem like overkill in an otherwise non-hazardous environment -- but think again.
In these situations, a tiny spark from a circuit board - like the ones inside unprotected exit lighting - could ignite a huge explosion. So the best way to stay safe without breaking the bank is our long-life Class 1 Division 2 Emergency Light with 6V 22W Nickel-Cadmium Battery.
Construction
Our sleek and stylish EXP-6-22-MR16-10W is constructed with a .100" thick heavy die cast aluminum back housing, which we then powder coat with an industrial gray baked-on finish.
A clear 0.125" thick polycarbonate lens protects the lighting heads within from vandalism and impact. To meet NEC and OSHA protocols for Class 1 Div. 2 spaces, a memory retention gasket protects the inside cavity from dust, moisture or water intrusion.
The EXP-6-22-MR16-10W uses dual 10W Halogen MR16 heads which can be hand positioned by first removing the polycarbonate shield. Halogen produces a bright light with a slightly warm color temperature that cuts through dust and smoke better than pure-white light sources like LED.
Battery and UL Testing
The EXP-6-22-MR16-10W includes a shrink-wrapped pack of AAA-sized 6V Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) batteries, which supplies 90 minutes of emergency runtime. The battery DOES NOT allow for remote lamp loads.
Because Ni-Cd batteries are much lighter than Lead Acid type, the shipping costs will be a significantly less than the equivalent SLA model. Ni-Cd battery replacements are typically cheaper to buy, and last up to three years longer than 6V sealed lead acid blocks.
