Construction

The CHI-EDGE-BB-R-S has a cast aluminum housing with brushed finish. The bottom exit panel is made of a high-polish, injection molded acrylic panel with slightly rounded edges. A red legal sized 'EXIT' stencil is molded into the acrylic, providing even light distribution. 

The Chicago Approved Edge Lit Exit Sign with Aluminum Housing includes a universal mounting bracket for wall, ceiling or end installation. This model also includes stick-on chevrons (arrows) to indicate exit direction. Single face and double face signs have a white mylar sheet within the panel, providing an attractive and compliant background which enables 'EXIT' to be seen easily from . up to 100 feet away.

Battery

This CHI-EDGE-BB-R-S model includes a 6-volt Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery pack. It provides emergency backup power to the exit sign for at least 90 minutes, and only requires 48-hours to fully recharge. Ni-Cd is the longest lasting battery type available, lasting an average of 15 years.

A push-to-test switch and LED pilot light on the side of the housing allows you to test the emergency readiness of the fixture. The LED will flash if any fault is detected in the circuit, LED lights or battery.
