Your auto body shop restores classic cars and hot rods to cherry condition, but there's a problem. The temporary strip lights used to illuminate your paint spray booth are ticking time bombs, and one spark or popped bulb could cause an explosion!  You also need to factor backup lighting in case of a power failure, so workers can finish their task and escape safely. The XP-265-4-2L-U-EM is one of the few fixtures out there that are Paint Spray Booth Approved. It can be surface mounted to a wall or ceiling and provides a broad, even light pattern over your work area. The XP series is UL and CSA certified for the most dangerous industrial applications.

Construction

The XP-265-4-2L-U-EM is constructed with corrosion resistant aluminum alloy housing and screw-on end caps for accessing the T8 lamps inside. The XP features an over-sized finned ballast housing on top that provides optimal heat dissipation. 

Our Class 1 Div 1 Explosion Proof 4' T8 Light with Emergency Battery Backup has impact and heat resistant glass tubes that protect the lamps inside. The lamps are set into spring-loaded sockets for maximum protection against vibration and shock.

Light Source

The XP-265-4-2L-U-EM comes fully-assembled for ease of installation, and includes two (2) teflon-coated 32W T8 fluorescent tubes.

Emergency Ballast

In the event of a power failure, a secondary emergency battery pack will automatically engage the AC ballast, keeping a single T8 lamp lit at a reduced light output. It has a minimum 90 minute runtime when fully charged per UL and CSA emergency lighting codes.

The housing includes a sealed LED indicator light/test switch for performing scheduled maintenance.
