Product Description

Your Naval shipyard is constructing a nuclear-driven aircraft carrier to the fleet. You need to install fluorescent lights that can be mounted in the lower hangar deck. Over a hundred of these lights must provide even lighting throughout the hangar. We have a relatively inexpensive solution, the Explosion Proof 4-Foot 2-Lamp 25W T5 Light.

The MHD2T542U has earned the highest UL and ETL ratings for highly corrosive, wet environments with high concentrations of explosive vapors like jet fuel.

Construction

Our utilitarian MHD2T542U is constructed with a 3/16" thick PET housing reinforced with fiberglass. The housing is industrial gray by design, and features two (2) A360 aluminum hubs for conduit entry. Two (2) steel mounting feet are included for convenient ceiling installation.

Our Explosion Proof 4-Foot 2-Lamp 25W T5 Light with Emergency Ballast has a 1/8" thick semi-clear acrylic lens, held by stainless steel locking latches. Unlike your typical vaporproof fluorescent fixtures, the lens on the MHD2 has reinforced corners which are better at surviving impact, both in the field during shipping.

A silicon gasket creates an airtight seal between the lens and the housing, and gives it an IP66 watertight rating.

Light Source

The MHD2T542U uses two (2) 4' 25W T5 fluorescent tubes (not included). These high output fluorescent tubes provide a broad overhead lighting pattern.
