As the EC on a new construction flour mill project, you are charged with buying low-profile, low-maintenance lighting in the staging areas. Because these rooms have 15-ft high ceilings, you need something bright, but HID highbays are too expensive, and collect too much dust. You also need a hazardous location rated fixture, since there are enough flour particles in the air to fuel a lethal explosion in contact with unprotected circuits

What you need is the Class 1 Division 2 T-Bar & Suspened Ceiling Recessed 2' x 4' Fluorescent Troffer with (2) 54W T5HO Lamps. This luminaire may look like your standard commercial lay-in fluorescent, but has a reinforced, airtight body & lens assembly, and silicone-sealed circuitry which safeguards against explosive gases or vapors.

Construction

The body of the RFLT5HO142GU is constructed with a single-piece aluminum housing. The housing is coated with a baked on polyester finish that protects the body from corrosion, even in marine indoor environments. The body features two (2) 1/2" NPT conduit entry hubs on either end. This 2x4 recessed industrial fixture also has a smooth cleanable surface, making it ideal in food prep scenarios as well.

The Class 1 Division 2 T-Bar & Suspened Ceiling Recessed 2' x 4' Fluorescent Troffer with (2) 54W T5Ho Lamps has a heavy duty prismatic acrylic lens, reinforced by an aluminum lens frame. A silicon gasket creates an airtight seal between the lens and the housing, and gives it a UL1598A Marine Inside Drip Proof watertight rating.

Light Source

The RFLT5HO142GU uses two (2) standard 54W T5HO fluorescent tubes (not included). These tiny fluorescent tubes put out very bright illumination and are much more cost effective than LED light sources.
