The RFL265244GU has the look of your standard commercial lay-in fluorescent fixture, but with a reinforced, airtight body and lens assembly, as well as silicone-sealed circuitry which safeguards against explosive gases or vapors.
Construction
The body of the RFL265244GU is constructed with a single-piece aluminum housing. The housing is coated with a baked on polyester finish that protects the body from corrosion, even in marine indoor environments. The body features two (2) 1/2" NPT conduit entry hubs on either end. This 2x4 recessed industrial fixture also has a smooth cleanable surface, making it ideal in food prep scenarios as well.
Our Class 1 Division 2 T-Bar & Suspened Ceiling Recessed 2' x 4' Fluorescent Troffer with (4) 32W T8 Lamps has a heavy duty prismatic acrylic lens, reinforced by an aluminum lens frame. A silicon gasket creates an airtight seal between the lens and the housing, and gives it a UL1598A Marine Inside Drip Proof watertight rating.
Light Source
The MHD226542U uses four (4) standard 32W T8 fluorescent tubes (not included). These fluorescent tubes are inexpensive, can be found everywhere and last twice as long as inefficient incandescent lamps. Fluorescent lamps are also much less expensive than their LED counterparts.
