The Compact Cold Weather Exit Sign with Green Letters is designed to be used in freezing environments where temperatures can drop as low as -4ºF. This model comes with an internal heater which keeps the battery backup system warm and ready to operate when freezing temperatures occur. The fixture is completely weatherproof and can be used outdoors and in all other types of wet location applications.
Construction
The housing of the Compact Cold Weather Exit Sign with Green Letters is constructed from weatherproof, flame-retardant polycarbonate. The clear faceplates protects the red EXIT legend and is rated for contact with dust, liquid, and other materials. Silicone gaskets create a watertight seal between the lens and housing, which ensures that moisture cannot enter.
Installation
This exit sign can be configured in the field for both single and double-sided applications. The EXIT faceplates feature a pair of directional arrows that can be knocked out, which allows the egress path direction to be easily indicated.
Maintenance
The Compact Cold Weather Exit Sign with Red Letters includes a 4.8V nickel-cadmium battery backup system. If electrical power is unavailable, the unit will operate using the battery for a minimum of 90-minutes. An easy to use push-button allows the battery status to be verified at any time.
Compliance
This cold weather exit sign is UL924 Listed for indoor and outdoor use in wet locations. Approved for use in cold environments where temperatures can reach -4ºF.
