Your Electrical Contracting company is installing recessed downlights and troffers into a new office high-rise, when the GC changes the lighting requirement.He now wants three-dozen can lights with emergency backup and some kind of "night light" for the night staff to work after hours.

This is a job for our space-saving LED Recessed Can Emergency Light with Security/Night Light - T-Bar. This four (4) inch diameter battery backup can light in a new-construction housing uses optimized high performance LEDs that are an ideal choice for indoor and covered outdoor installation where a minimal safety light is required at night.

Construction

The NFDL1-WB-10L-WH-SEC recessed downlights has a 4” trim ring (the part you see in the ceiling) with galvanized steel can, back plate and adjustable hanger bars for fitting into any drop-down T-bar ceiling. Two (2) 5-watt optical LEDs are coupled with a heat and impact resistant polycarbonate prismatic lens that is highly-resistant to discoloration. This can is Non-IC Rated, so the recessed body must be a legal distance away from any insulation.

Security Night Light

This emergency can light model includes a security night light for illuminating pathways when normal AC power is flowing through the building. The night light is powered independantly from the battery and can be switched on and off manually or with a photocell. This pathway light operates at 50% output than the downlight does in emergency mode.

Battery

The NFDL1-WB-10L-WH-SEC includes a pack of nickel cadmium batteries which carry a 15-year a life expectancy. Ni-Cd batteries offer high discharge rates and perform better in extreme temperatures than sealed lead acid types.
