We got your solution "right here" - the Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) Outdoor LED Emergency Light is a low-profile battery unit with no protruding heads and includes vandal proof locking hardware. Best of all, each unit of the W12SV40N-2-LG-D is factory-tested before it ships out to you, meeting the strictest waterproof standards of NEMA 4X!

Construction

The W12SV40N-2-LG-D has rear backplate that is constructed with heavy cast aluminum, and this model is given a white powder coating finish that is nearly impervious to corrosion and foul weather. Tamperproof screws are included with this model, along with a special key that only YOU can unlock. The backplate is intended for wall, strut or or beam mounting, but NOT for ceilings! 

A removable clear, UV-resistant polycarbonate lens cover protects the MR16 lighting heads inside. The lens and back housing are hermetically sealed with a silicone gasket to prevent water, vapor or dust leakage and gives this robust unit a NEMA 4X Severe Wet Location Rating. 

Illumination

This W12SV40N includes two (2) 4W LED MR16 swivel heads that can be positioned without a tool, and provides you with full beam angle control. This lamp type is equivalent to a 12-watt halogen and lasts between 8-10 years, so you don't have to worry about changing the lamps every year.

Battery and UL Testing 

The W12SV40N-2-LG-D includes a shrink-wrapped pack of AAA-sized 12-volt Nickel Cadmium batteries, which supplies 40W capacity ideal for a nearby remote head and exit signs, or to extend the emergency runtime to 4+ hours. 

Because Ni-Cd batteries are much lighter than heavy gel type, the shipping costs will be significantly less than the equivalent lead calcium models. Ni-Cd battery replacements are typically cheaper to buy, and last up to three years longer than 12V lead calcium blocks. Best of all, they don't rupture under heat, allowing you to place the W12SV40N in direct sunlight.

This model comes standard with Auotest (AT), a microprocessor that constantly monitors the lamps, circuits, battery voltage and input voltage for any flaws. AT also performs periodic battery discharge tests on a monthly basis and will alert maintenance personnel with a red, non-audible blinking LED light until the issue is resolved.
