Product Description
Your municipal park has a serious flaw in its emergency lighting setup - the non-metallic backup lights near the baseball dugouts, recreation center and the basketball courts are set to turn off the second AC power is restored. While this is okay for most facilities, the abundance of HID sportslighters and floodlights (which require a 5-10 minute warmup to reach full brightness) puts the park in momentary darkness; far below the UL required luminance.
That is why you need to Buy the Nickel Cadmium Wet Location Emergency Light with Time Delay, a wet location-ready fixture ideal for outdoor areas exposed to rain and direct sunlight. In addition to the water proof capabilities of the IEL Series, the Time Delay (TD) option is factory set to stay on for a desired duration (5,10 or 20 min) allowing HID lighting to fully warm up.
Construction
Our IEL-12-54-NC-2-25SBH-TD120 is constructed with a fiberglass cabinet that is resistant to corrosion and sun-damage. An industrial gray finish is standard, and there are several terminal connectors on the housing flanks to connect remote flood lights. This model includes two (2) top-mounted 25-watt sealed beam halogen, Par36-style heads. These heads are fully-adjustable, water-tight and generate tremendous pure-white light onto your egress pathway.
Each IEL-12-54-NC-2-25SBH-TD120 model is individually tested in the factory to NEMA 4X standards, a series of brutal wash-down tests to ensure the gaskets and housing stay completely sealed. This makes it a far superior unit than most fixtures which only carry a UL/CSA Wet Location listing.
Battery Testing
The IEL-12-54-NC-2-25SBH-TD120 includes memory-free 12 volt nickel cadmium battery packs. Ni-Cd lasts 8-10 years of continuous use (compared to 5-7 years with SLA), have a higher tolerance to cold weather and there is no chance of acid spillage. The batteries are rated to keep the lighting heads illuminated for at least 90 minutes, and requires only 24-hours to fully re-charge.
For periodic CSA-mandated testing, a push-to-test switch on the side of the housing allows maintenance personnel to quickly ascertain the operational status of the fixture and lamp load. Above the switch is a dual diagnostic LED display indicating AC/ON and High Charge. Ask about our Autotest feature as well!
