We've been helping customers dispose of self-luminous tritium exit signs for almost 10 years. The process provided is seamless. Signs are simply shipped directly to the recycling facility and concludes with the client receiving a Statement of Disposal, which serves as the certificate of record.
The cost provided above is per sign face and is for single-sided tritium exit signs. Disposal requires a small bit of paperwork to be filled out, and detailed instructions are provided below that go over those details:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISPOSAL DOCUMENTS
The main document that will be completed is the Instructions Disposal Policy PDF, and it is very thorough document that should answer any other questions you and/or your client might have. The Instructions PDF explains in detail the process for how to inventory, package, and ship old tritium exit signs correctly.
The other main document is the Tritium Exit Sign Worksheet; which will be used to inventory the information (make/model/lifespan/etc.) on the tritium exit signs which you have marked for disposal. There are 10 lines for entry on the worksheet since packing (10) signs per box is the maximum allowed. For example, if based on a quantity of (24), a shipment will contain (3) boxes in total. You will be asked to print out a single copy of the Tritium Exit Sign Worksheet and enclose it within the respective box you are shipping, before taping it closed.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
As for shipping – pre-paid UPS Ground Shipping Labels will be provided by The Lighting Source via email. To provide the shipping labels – as well as the RGA # required for shipment – you’ll need to take each of your completed Exit Sign Worksheets and scan them into your computer. Please also scan in your completed Disposal Policy paperwork (To complete, please initial & sign each page of the Disposal Policy PDF). Once these documents are scanned in, please email them for final review.
The RGA # (Return Goods Authorization) will be provided once both the paperwork, inventory worksheets, and payment are received. Once your worksheet has been scanned and saved properly, please remember to enclose the hard copy of each Tritium Exit Sign Worksheet into the box, before taping them up for shipment. The last step before pick-up is to: write the RGA # in black permanent marker on the outside of the box and then call for a UPS pick-up.
