As the Electrical Contractor on a retrofit City Hall project, it's your job to source energy-efficient LED exit signs to place above chamber doors and along the hallways. You want a barely-there sign with battery backup capability in case of power outage. Sounds like just the job for the Wall Recessed Edge Lit Exit Sign with Bent Panel.

The stylish CEDGSP-WR comes as single face exit sign panel and includes a recessed backbox housing for installation. The exposed housing trim has a standard white finish, though other colors are optional. This energy-saving edge lit sign will remain on at all times when normal AC electricity is flowing, and continue to stay lit for at least 1-1/2 hours after a power failure, complying with UL924 code.

Construction

The CEDGSP-WR has an unfinished steel backbox housing & junction box which conceal into hard wall surfaces. The exposed trim is powder coated with a white baked-on finish. 

The exit panel of the Wall Recessed Edge Lit Exit Sign with Bent Panel is made of a high-polish, injection molded acrylic that curves into the housing like a waterfall. A red or green 'EXIT' stencil is molded into the acrylic, providing even light distribution from recessed LEDs. This single face-only wall unit is transparent, though you can choose a reflective mylar or white insert as well.

Battery

This CEDG model includes a 6-volt Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery pack. It provides emergency backup power to the exit sign for at least 90 minutes, and only requires 48-hours to fully recharge. Ni-Cd is the longest lasting battery type available, lasting an average of 15 years.

A push-to-test switch and LED pilot light on the housing trim allows you to test the emergency readiness of the fixture. The LED will flash if any fault is detected in the circuit, LED lights or battery.
